Original Fully Restored "CYRUS PRICE" Fire Resistant Safe.
A rare Cyrus Price safe in a stunning working fully restored condition.
We bring to you this one off example of a rare "Cyrus Price" quality patent hand-formed steel safe made inWolverhampton in around the 1890's. This immense quality and very secure safe is truly a museum piece and has had no expense spared in its restoration.
This lovely safe features original specification paintwork featuring 3 colours exactly matched to the original colours. The safe is finished in predominantly black with a dark brown framed door with beige to the centre door. The glossy paintwork is hand-polished single stage paint (not lacquered) exactly as it would have been originally. The safe is complemented by the ornate traditionally hand-painted red and beige coach lines which elegantly frames the door and hinges. This safe has been fully restored from bare metal, having been sandblasted and linished to ensure the highest quality refurbishment possible. The inside has been hand painted with colours that exactly match the original complete with the original Cyrus Price transfer and 'registered trade mark' that we have just enhanced. The safes paint has then been polished to a deep shine and waxed to protect the paintwork, the lovely original brasswork has then been highly polished.
The safe is fireproof to '212' degrees as quoted on the manufacturer's polished fine brass plaque of 'CYRUS PRICE & Co WOLVERHAMPTON'. The amazing solid brass handle reminds usof a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is sturdy and has a satisfying latchingaction in a smoothly working order. The external lock is working smoothly with 2keys (1 original) and the brass keyhole escutcheon has a lovely sliding lid with the the words 'Cyrus Price & Co Patent Lock' cast into the lid which elegantly covers thekeyhole when not in use. The inside of thesafe is painted in its colour matched beige paint colour with brown framed door and drawer front which match the exterior, completed by red accents. The safe also has a locking internal secure drawer with 2 working keys and the original polished brass Cyrus Price branded dropper handle and brass lock.
Inside the safe we have also added red baize (felt) removable liners to keep your valuables and the safe itself protected from scratches or damage when items are stored inside.
This safe is ideal forstoring important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash, jewellery or anything else of value and is obviously rather safe. This safe would look fabulous in a loft styleapartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talkingpoint for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table withstorage.
