A Lovely Art Nouveau Wind-out Dining Table And Chairs.

A fantastic solid oak 4-6 seater table with 4 original matching chairs.

We bring to you a rare example of a Late Edwardian solid Oak wind out table and the set of 4 matching chairs that are original to the table and have been together since they were made. This set we believe to be made between 1900 - 1920 and is very uncommon to find a set still together after all of this time. This almost flawless table and chairs have been cherished and are in fantastic condition with a lovely French polished finish with a lightly faded original medium oak colour with lots of patina and character.

The impressive yet simple Art Nouveau solid Oak tabletop sits on its wind out frame (which works smoothly without sagging, keeping the top perfectly flat) complete with the original and winding mechanism and handle. The top descends to 4 substantial square tapering legs terminating to its 4 original large castors, making it very easy to move.

This table has 1 additional leaf giving a small overall form when the leaf is not in use or a large table when the leaf is in. This table can manage to accommodate 4-6 chairs and be used as a formal dining room or even a breakfast table. This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs however being an antique item of this age there are blemishes and scuffs here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage.

Included with the table are the matching set of 4 solid oak tall back chairs with the classical Art Nouveau carved top rail, square tapering legs, medium oak colour and original patina and signs of age. The Upholstery is used condition chenille material in a terracotta colour and the inner padding is in good condition and from a clean smoke-free home (we can re-upholster these chairs for obvious added costs if it is not to your particular tastes). We have also thoroughly checked the joints to make sure these chairs are as solid as can be.

We have sympathetically restored this table and chairs maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Although it would be a real shame to split the chairs and the table as they have been together all of their life, however we understand you may already have one or the other so we would be willing to sell separately. The chairs would be £495 and the table would be £550, please enquire for this option.
