Antique Mahogany Glazed China Cabinet.
A lovely display cabinet.
We are delighted to offer this excellent condition antique Edwardian (circa 1900) Sheraton Revival Mahogany inlaid display cabinet. The cabinet features a pair of glazed doors, complete with its original brass dropper handle and ball latch, ideal for storing and displaying small ornamentals.
Internally there are 2 material covered shelves and the interior has been recently re-covered with a gold damask material which is in lovely clean condition. Almost every area of the frame on this piece incorporates satinwood & boxwood cross-band inlays complete with shell inlays to the top frieze. The lower frieze is fret-carved complete with ribbon carved fretwork corner brackets going to square tapering legs which stands on carved wooden ormolu feet.
This cabinet has obviously really been looked after as it is in a lovely original condition with its original hand floated glass and lovely original lightly faded colour and French polished finish.
We have just cleaned and waxed this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.
Please note; this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there. However, we feel that adds to the charm of the item with it being an antique.
Also note, items places inside, on, or around this item are not included in the sale and are for display purposes only.
