Product Description

George III Elm Blanket Box.

A primitive box from the early 1800's.

We bring to you an excellent original condition early Georgian C1800 blanket box. This charming chest is primitively made from solid elm with a handmade clout nail construction. It features its original wrought iron lock with brass escutcheon to the front (no key) and its original wrought iron strap hinges. This chest is completely original with lots of patina and charm which shows it's history and usage. We have just cleaned and waxed this chest to give it a lustrous natural sheen and preserve and protect the item for many more years to come.
The chest does have many signs of woodworm as expected with an item of this age, however, is non structural, historic and are no longer active. 

This chest is an ideal vintage/retro chest for storage or just be used as a room decor/blanket chest.

Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd slight blemishes and here and there, however, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.

Also note, sale is for the chest only, other items pictured are not included in the sale.
