Original Fully Restored "Grant & Co" Fire Resistant Safe.

A very rare Grant & Co safe in a stunning working fully restored condition.

We bring to you this one off example of a very rare "Grant & Co" quality patent hand-formed steel safe made around the 1890's. This quality and secure safe is truly a museum piece and has had no expense spared in its restoration.

This lovely safe features original specification paintwork matched to the original colours. The safe is finished in black hand-polished single stage paint (not lacquered) exactly as it would have been originally. The safe is complemented by the ornate traditionally hand-painted cream coach lines which elegantly frames the moulded front door. This safe has been fully restored from bare metal, having been stripped and linished to ensure the highest quality refurbishment possible. The safes paint has then been polished to a deep shine and waxed to protect the paintwork, the lovely original brasswork has then been highly polished.

This safe also features its manufacturer's polished cast brass plaque of 'Grant & Co Patentees Warranted Fireproof. The amazing solid brass handle reminds usof a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is sturdy and has a satisfying latchingaction in a smoothly working order. The external lock is working smoothly with 2keys and the brass keyhole escutcheon has a lovely sliding lid surrounded by a round plaque which has 'Warranted Fireproof' cast into it. The inside of thesafe is painted in its colour matched teal blue paint colour which has been mixed to exactly match the original, completed by cream pin-striping to the drawer mimicking the exterior. The internal secure drawer is lockable with 2 keys and is complete with the original polished brass dropper handle.

Inside the safe we have also added cream leather removable liners to keep your valuables and the safe itself protected from scratches or damage when items are stored inside.

This safe is ideal forstoring important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash, jewellery or anything else of value and is obviously rather safe. This safe would look fabulous in a loft styleapartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talkingpoint for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table withstorage.
