
Original Antique "J.CARTWRIGHT & SON" Fully Restored Luxury safe.
A rare Jacob Cartwright safe in a stunning fully restored working condition.
We bring to you this veryrare excellent condition "Cartwright" Patent steel safe made inWest Bromwich by the maker Jacob Cartwright of Roebuck Street, West Bromwich in around C1900. This fantastic quality and very secure safe is truly a museum piece and has had no expense spared in its full restoration carried out by ourselves.
This lovely safe features original specification paintwork featuring 2 tone paintwork to match the original colours. The safe is finished in predominantly green with a black door design and frame. The paintwork is single stage paint (not lacquered) exactly as it would have been originally. The safe is complemented by the ornate traditionally hand-painted green, yellow and red coach lines which elegantly frames the door and hinges. This safe has been fully restored from bare metal, having been stripped and linished to ensure the highest quality refurbishment possible. The inside has been painted with colours that exactly match the original and the lovely original brasswork has then been highly polished.
This safe features its manufacturer's polished brass plaque of 'J. CARTWRIGHT & SON MAKERS ESTABLISHED 1844 TRADE MARK WEST BROMWICH ENGLAND'. The amazing solid brass handle reminds usof a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is sturdy and has a satisfying latchingaction in a smoothly working order. The external lock is working smoothly with 2keys and the brass keyhole escutcheon has a lovely sliding lid with the words 'IMPROVED INVIOLABLE LOCK' cast into the lid which elegantly covers thekeyhole when not in use.
The inside of thesafe has been re painted to exactly match the original, complete with red embellishments. This safe unusually is complete with its original printed paper matching plaque on the back of the door and is in almost perfect readable condition. The safe also has 1 internal secure locking drawer with the original polished brass handle and working brass lock with 2 keys. The drawer is also complete with the original manufacturers painted design to the drawer.
Our upholstery department has made high quality full grain green leather removable liners to keep your valuables and the safe itself protected from scratches or damage when items are stored inside.
This safe is ideal forstoring important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash,jewellery or anything else of value and is obviously rather safe. This safe would look fabulous in a loft styleapartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talkingpoint for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table withstorage.
Please note; This itemis in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd blemishand scuff here and there. However, we feel that this adds to the charm andauthenticity of the item with it being Antique.

Please also note, due to the size and weight of this safe we would be delivering this safe via a pallet delivery which is to the kerbside only and will be the buyer responsibility to transport it into a property. We advise the use of a pallet truck or very strong sack truck with a ratchet strap securing the safe to the sack truck to aid moving with 3 extra people for strength and stability. We take no responsibility of the handling of the safe once delivered to your kerbside.
