A beautiful Victorian writing desk, ideal for any period study or office.

We are delighted to offer this excellent condition Antique Late Victorian (circa 1890s's) solid Mahogany twin pedestal writing desk made by the maker Jason Shoolbred & Co LTD, ideal for any period study or office. This very usable desk is ideal to be used as a desk for a laptop with the bonus of being able to store the folded laptop in the middle drawer and could also even be used as a hall or console table as it is narrow and not too intrusive.

This lovely desk features its original French polished finish with a rich Mahogany colour with patina and Burgundy gold tooled writing desk leather. The desk also features 9 descending large dovetailed Mahogany lined drawers and comes complete with its original brass dropper handles which we have highly polished. This desk is complete with all working locks with keys, the top 3 drawers are operated by 1 key and the pedestal drawers are operated by the other key. The desk also has ornately embellished with reeded mouldings to the faces of the drawers. Under the desk are its original castors with brown porcelain wheels for ease of movement.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Please note; This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however, being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage of the piece. Also note this desk comes apart into 3 pieces for ease of transport.
