A beautiful Late Victorian Pitch Pine writing desk, ideal for any period study or office.

We are delighted to offer this excellent condition Antique Late Victorian to early Edwardian (circa 1900's) twin pedestal teachers writing desk made from solid Pitch Pine. This very usable desk is ideal for any period home office or study and to be used as a desk for a laptop or desktop computer with the bonus of being able to store any folded laptop in the middle drawer and lock it away. The back of this desk is polished enabling it to look stunning placed in the middle of any room.

This lovely desk features its original waxed finish with a rich deep pine colour complemented by patina and signs of character. The desk also features 9 drawers with original brass working locks. All drawers include a secure multi lever lock operated by a single key but a spare key is also included. The desk is complete with original brass highly polished handles. We have replaced the 6 of the handles as some of its original handles were either lost or broken. The handles we replaced them with are also antique solid brass handles of a similar age.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Please note; This desk is large and very heavy so please make sure you fully measure to ensure the item can be manoeuvred into the desired location. The top is easily removable to make the item lighter for movement and to aid it through doorways. This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however, being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage of the piece.
