Original Antique 'THE DART SAFE Co' Safe.

A very rare Antique Dart brand small safe in a stunning working original condition.

We bring to you this very rare excellent original condition 'The Dart Safe Co' Patent steel safe made in West Bromwich around the 1870's - 1880's.

This lovely safe features green paintwork complemented by the black door frame and external bandings that is embellished with a gold and brass coloured fine lines which elegantly frames the door. This safe has been fully re painted from bare metal using colours to match the original specification of the safe whilst leaving a small amount of the safes lovely metal patina. The safe has then been carefully waxed to protect the paintwork and give a natural sheen and the brasswork has been highly polished.

This small safe also features its original manufacturer's polished cast brass plate of 'THE DART SAFE Co G&W MANUFACTURERS - WEST BROMWICH'. The lovely solid polished brass handle reminds us of a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is sturdy and has a satisfying latching action in a smoothly working order. The external lock is working smoothly with 2 keys and the brass keyhole escutcheon has a lovely lift up lid which covers the keyhole with the words 'INVIOLABLE LOCK' cast into the lid. The safe also has 1 internal secure locking drawer with fine lined brass coloured paintwork to the front and is complete with the original lock with 2 keys (1 original) with the original brass dropper handle.

This safe is ideal for storing important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash, jewelry or anything else of value and is obviously rather safe. This safe would look fabulous in a loft style apartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talking point for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table with storage.

Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd blemish and scuff here and there. However, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being Antique.
