Original Antique 'B. TEBBIT' Restored Safe.

An incredibly rare B. Tebbit brand safe in a stunning working condition.

This lovely safe features black lightly polished paintwork complemented by the hand-painted cream fine lines complete with painted floral embellishments to the corners. This safe has been fully re-painted from bare metal whilst leaving some slight metal patina and original hammer marks from its creation. The safe has then been lightly polished and waxed to protect the paintwork and give a natural sheen, the lovely original brasswork has then been highly polished.

This safe also features its manufacturer's polished brass plaque of 'B.TEBBIT. ESTABLISHED 1823 SAFE DEPOT 24 GREAT HAMPTON St BIRMINGHAM'. The amazing solid brass T handle reminds us of a bolt action rifle as the mechanism is sturdy and has a satisfying latching action in a smoothly working order. The external lock is working smoothly with 2 keys (1 original) and the brass keyhole escutcheon has a lovely sliding lid which covers the keyhole.

Inside the safe features the original green paint colour scheme which we have mixed and repainted to keep the safe true to its originality. The safe also has 1 internal secure locking drawer with cream pinstriped lines complete with 2 (1 original) keys and the original brass dropper handle and lock.

This safe is ideal for storing important paperwork, house deeds, birth certificates, passports, cash, jewellery or anything else of value and is obviously rather safe. This safe would look fabulous in a loft style apartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talking point for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table with storage.

Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd blemish and scuff here and there. However, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being Antique.
