Antique Victorian Carved Button Back Mahogany Armchair Fireside Gents Chair

A comfortable but decorative armchair.

We are offering for sale this lovely condition early Victorian (circa 1860) classically carved and shaped button back armchair made from the finest solid Cuban heavy Mahogany. This chair features carved rolled arms finishing to carved cabriole legs which finishes to original brass polished castors with the typical early Victorian white porcelain wheels.

This stunning chair has been recently upholstered (approximately 5 years ago) in a lovely plush deep red velvet material ideal for any period property. This item is structurally solid, in good order with no loose joints. The material and inner padding seems to be in very good condition. The springs do not clunk and the chair is very comfortable to sit in.

The material is used so is not absolutely perfect however is in an excellent usable condition and from a smoke and pet free home. The material can be left as it is in fantastic condition or it could be fully re-upholstered to your taste. We would be able to quote for re-upholstering this armchair for you if you enquire.

We have just carefully cleaned the upholstery and waxed the woodwork on this chair to enhance its already beautiful condition.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but does have signs of wear and tear, for example the front lower rail has had a small historic repair on the right side as seen in the pictures. However, we feel that these points are which adds to part of its charm and character with it being antique.
