A charming games table in a stunning original condition.

We are delighted to bring to you this outstanding William IV / Early Victorian fold over top card/games table believed to be made between 1830 - 1840. This lovely table is in a fine original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically restoring and waxing this table preserving the lovely lightly faded original colour with lots of patina and charm.

The top of this table slides over on an offset pivot to reveal a green baize lined storage compartment before folding over to the green baize card table surface. To the underside of the top features an elegant scrolled under-frame incorporating 2 finely turned carrying handles with turned accents mimicking the ones on the base.

The stunning original tabletop stands on its heptagonal descending pillar featuring 2 fretwork scrolled embellishments to either side sweeping to a triform base which sits on its elegantly carved feet complete with its original inset wooden castors. This table features the typical Regency/William IV quarter-turned beaded mouldings throughout the design of the table which is all complete with none missing or broken.

There is no movement or play in any of the joints as the table is being normally used, the top is flat with no bowing or twisting and smoothly turns and folds over. This table has a small overall form yet is versatile from having a fold-over top managing to accommodate up to 4 chairs for use as a card or games table.

Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there. The table has also had some woodworm to the underside which we have treated but was likely not active regardless. However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
