George III Mahogany Tilt Top Wine Table.
We bring to you this lovely George III Regency Mahogany tilt top wine table believed to be made around C1810. This table is in beautiful condition which we have enhanced by stripping and traditionally French polishing the top, bringing out its beautiful switch back Mahogany grain whilst maintaining an original colour, charm and character.
The top of this table is one piece of solid Mahogany with no joints and has no bowing or twisting to it. There is a minor original split which we have left for prosperity, it doesn't effect its use.
This table features a snap top tilting top mechanism which is working smoothly with its original brass banjo catch. The turned central pillar features correct period turnings finishing to elegantly shaped finely shaped slender tripod legs (supported by its original wrought iron bracket), culminating to turned pad feet. This very rare table is in a superb condition for its age, the joints are all as tight as they should be with no wobbles.
Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump here and there. However, we feel that these points are which adds charm and character to a piece.
