Antique Victorian Mahogany Moderately Sized Scottish Chest of 4 Drawers

An amazing Victorian chest of drawers.

We are delighted to bring to you one of the finest examples of a rare Victorian (circa 1870) 4 deep descending drawer chest of drawers. This fairly compact chest of drawers features a secret moulded top drawer and the fine fiddle-back Mahogany veneer to all of its lovely drawer fronts. The chest of drawers also has its stunning bobbin turned pillars either side complete with a break-front moulded plinth which is built into its large bottom drawer, all standing on its original 4 turned legs. This ornate Scottish chest of drawers is in an outstanding condition featuring its original beautiful French polished finish complete with its lovely lightly faded warm Mahogany colour. The chest also features its original fine quality turned knobs and brass keyhole escutcheons in front of its original locks (no keys). The finely dovetailed drawers are in great condition, the drawers are smoothly operating and are clean inside.

The chest has been restored in our workshop so is solid with no loose joints or wobbles and is free from woodworm. The drawers have had some of the drawer runners replaced and rebuilt as necessary so now have little to no wear and do not drop when opened. The chest of drawers has been carefully cleaned and waxed, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen. This lovely restored chest of drawers is ready for a new home and good for many more years to come.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
