A rare set of William IV mahogany chairs.

We bring to you this rare original set of 4 William IV (C1830 - 1837) mahogany dining chairs in fantastic original condition. This set of chairs features a spectacular curved top rail, typical William IV carved and moulded centre back rail and a stuffed over seat which is raised on turned and fluted forelegs.

These chairs feature lovely original rich mahogany polish with a lightly faded colour and lots of patina which have been sympathetically restored and carefully waxed by us in our workshop. These chairs have obviously been looked after and cared for as it is quite rare to find a set of 4 William IV or even Regency chairs in such good condition, the majority of sets get broken up or chairs lost or broken. These chairs are of a very high quality and are made from all solid heavy Mahogany with a very solid design, construction and are completely original with no loose joints. The chairs do have some historic repairs to the curved top rails (as pictured) and some other general repairs as expected with items of this age, the repairs have been done well and are not structurally compromising. A couple of these chairs have previously had minor woodworm which is no longer active and has been treated, the chairs are still strong and in good solid condition.

The striped material on the chairs is used but is in good condition and the inner padding is in good order and is comfortable.
