A rare Military Camphor wood campaign chest.

We bring to you this rare excellent condition Victorian Campaign chest made from Camphor wood. This lovely chest features brass edge banding, lock and lifting handles to both ends complete with a military fold flat handle for lifting up the lid. This chest is made from Camphor wood which is known to deter moths to safeguard clothing. This chest also comes complete with the original working lock (with key) which unusually has a 'ding' when opened or closed although we can't quite work out why the makers felt the need to add this. We have sympathetically restored and have just carefully waxed this item to preserve and give it a lustrous natural shine maintaining some of the original patina.

This chest would look fabulous in a loft style apartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talking point for guests. This item could also be used as a small coffee table with storage.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd blemish and scuff here and there, however we feel that this adds to the charm of the item with it being antique.
