Vintage Military Steamer Trunk.

A rare Military steamer trunk ideal as a vintage coffee table.

We bring to you an excellent original condition vintage 19th century Military travel chest. This Lovely trunk was used for transporting personal belongings for serving soliders. The chest is made from metal with 2 sliding latches, carry handles to either side and brass lock with keyhole escutcheon (no key). As shown by the sign-writing to the front, the chest belonged to Captain K.C. Cook. From our brief research he was in the intelligence corps in 1948 and promoted to Major. This trunk is completely original with some of the paint worn off, dents, scratches and original paper travel labels which all shows its history and usage which we feel adds lots of charm and character. We have just cleaned, waxed this trunk to give it a lustrous natural sheen and preserve and protect the item for many more years to come. This trunk branded by Gordon trunk Co LTD of Liverpool on the inside and is complete with the remains of some of the newspaper lining to the bottom which is from the 1950's.

This chest is ideal to be used as a coffee table, vintage/retro chest for storage or just be used as a room decor/blanket chest.

This chest would look fabulous in a loft style apartment or vintage themed home and would certainly be an interesting talking point for guests.

Please note; This item is in very good condition for its age but will obviously have the odd slight blemishes and here and there, however, we feel that this adds to the charm and authenticity of the item with it being antique.
