Vintage Ercol Solid Elm Sideboard


Ercol Model 429 refinished in Natural Straw colour


We bring to you this restored low sideboard from the Ercol Windsor range dating from the late 20th century. We have restored this item by stripping and re-polishing in the Ercol Light Staw colour. Although it's similar to the Ercol Windsor 468 model sideboard, this less commonly seen model differs by having an angled lip across the lower back as well as across the lower front. It also features a differently designed top which has a subtly curved overhanging front and back edge.

As with all Ercol Furniture it's incredibly well constructed and made from solid elm with the exception of the solid mahogany drawer linings. The dovetailed joints across the top and bottom of both sides emphasise how well constructed it is, as do the full length hinges which are fitted to the doors.

The 2 dovetailed drawers and all 3 doors are fitted with hugely stylish oval inset handles which form such an appealing feature of the Windsor range, and the double door cupboard is fitted with a height adjustable shelf. The right hand cupboard is unfortunately missing the cutlery drawer but still has the runners for it.

The underside of the sideboard is fitted with original shepherds casters which allow for easy movement and is complete with it's blue label inside the right side cupboard to show its authenticity.


Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there as expected with any used furniture, however we feel that add to the charm of the item with it being vintage.
